For the first time in France traditional parties were unsuccessful. As it was not anticipated by most in France, Emmanuel Macron embraced the rope in the first round of presidential elections. According to the official results announced, racist candidate Le Pen took the second place.
The 39-year-old Emmanuel Macron is seen as the winner of the second round on May 7 2017 after his unexpected victory in the first round. Macron won the first place with 23.75 percent of the votes. The victory of Macron is seen as ‘The New French Revolution‘ by most British and global newspapers. However, he has a harder path to deal with. He has to move his political movement to parliament; otherwise he has to make negotiation with the parliament for each of his promises. François Fillon and Benoit Hamon, who lost their first round, asked their supporters to vote for Macron on May 7th.
The supporters of Le Pen and the extreme right wingers in Europe are also happy and hopeful. Dutch Geert Wilders was among the first to celebrate Le Penn. In fact, there is a drop in the vote rate of Le Penn comparing to the polls conducted before the election.
The young politician Macron was seen far away from the Elysee Palace a few months ago. If he succeeds to win the second round the country seems to sail in unknown seas after the second round after May 7th.
But, the Macron’s not being affiliated with any political party, can avoid him taking parliamentary support. In the next general election Macron’s own political movement “En Marche” has to send candidates to parliament. If this does not happen, Macron may have to negotiate each item with individual councils in order to be able to pass the election program.
