Google Maps and Amazon applications do not support the Apple Watch for a long time and it is amazing that no one is aware of it.
Some great applications have started to leave the software they developed for Apple Watch. According to the reports of Apple Insider, Amazon, eBay, Google Maps and Target are among these applications. Apple gossip sites do not have any information about when these applications would be removed from service. However, it is claimed that some applications like Google Maps, have been shut down weeks ago.
Google accepted the claim by saying that Google Maps support for Apple Watch was temporarily removed with the latest published iOS version. They are planning to restart the support.
Apple and other application developers did not comment on the topic. The reason of companies’ pulling their support from Apple Watch is not obvious yet.
Apple is expected make an explanation about the topic at the producer’s conference in June that has been organized each year. They will also announce their revenues in the first quarter of the year. In fact, Apple has never given information about the sales of Apple Watch before.
The Apple smart watch was released on markets two years ago with big targets. But the software that could run on Apple Watch has been pretty limited. These applications were the extensions of the iPhone applications at first. They did not really work if the phone was closer. The device was put on the market in 2015 with 3,000 applications.
With the release of Apple’s WatchOS 3 software in 2016, the application producers began to be able to work independently on Apple Watch. This meant faster and more powerful applications. As a result, health and sports practices and quick notifications have continued to be successful in Apple Watch. We will see how it will continue to do after the leaving of popular applications.
