The 72 year old musician has been one of the most complaining names music industry about the domination of internet over music industry. He had failed in Pono experiment in 2014. Nowadays, he is ready for a new project called XStream.

There are also musicians working with applications like Spotify, iTunes and similar platforms, as well as some who try to build their own platforms. Neil Young had tried building his own platform with a service called Pono. Unfortunately, this project did not las long despite giving a Hi-Fi quality service. Apparently, Neil Young was not born with his unsuccessful attempt. This time he will try his luck with XStream.
According to Neil Young, the most used services of the internet, like Spotify and iTunes, do not provide adequate music quality. He says the quality of the sound in Spotify and iTunes does not exceed MP3. This is reason of him for being against the internet music providers. Young is trying to give Hi-Fi quality music with his new service XStream, as he did with Pono before. Neil Young have already broadcasted a broad message to Pono users. He is planning to adopt XStream in a very short time. The cost of the XStream service is not definite yet.
