Nowadays, there is an increase in the supply and demand of the intelligent vehicles. With this increase analyzing and storing data from these vehicles are becoming increasingly problematic. IBM and BMW have found a solution to this problem and decided to work together in this issue.
As the vehicles become intelligent, the amount of daily information they emerge increases, and it becomes increasingly difficult to cope with this situation. IBM is gearing up to act as an intermediary in the world of complex new automotive cloud telematics.
BMW is planning to connect its CarData platform to its Bluemix cloud service with its partnership with IBM. At the heart of this agreement there stands the idea that IBM will store and analyze your information and pass it on to third parties when necessary. The companies are now defining appropriate use cases and services which can use the new system. The details about the work of BMW and IBM will be announced this year.
With this platform, you can easily transmit the statistics of your car to the insurer or to the service. If you transmit the statistics to the insurance company, the amount of insurance can be determined according to the way of using the vehicle. In the second case, the fault of your vehicle will be delivered to the service in advance and the service will be ready when you go.
IBM wants this platform to spread to other automakers. The Global Automotive Industry General Manager of IBM Dirk Wollschlaeger believes that the company will succeed to be a “single point of contact” for various parts of the automotive industry. It is also thought that the establishment of this platform is very important for driverless cars.
