Bad breath is a common problem among children, but it is often thought to be because of simple causes. However, if your child has a bad breath, you need to worry about this problem. In fact, bad breath can be the indication of many serious diseases.
The bad breath is mostly caused by infections in mouth, nose, sinuses, lungs and stomach. In addition, due to kidney and liver problems and metabolic diseases, the clearing of substances that accumulate in the body is made through the lungs which can cause bad odor in the mouth.
Determination of the reason of the bad breath also determines the correct treatment. In children, there may be bad breath due to 6-8 hour hunger. Tooth decay, gingivitis and inflammation of the gums, teething and not cleaning the teeth and mouth properly can cause bad breath. But it can be completely corrected with good teeth and oral care.

Tonsillitis and pharyngitis, lung abscess are also common causes of bad breath.
Night nutrition, reflux disease, gastritis, some foods and beverages also cause mouth odor. Chronic diseases such as liver, kidney; diabetic coma, vomiting and metabolic diseases lead to an increase in urea, ketones and ammonia, and these substances are released through the lungs, leading to bad breath.
By determining the diseases that cause bad breath in children and by treating this disease, and proper mouth and dental care, bad breath in kids may be prevented.
