Although Android is an open source free operating system, this promised freedom can sometimes lead to enormous problems. An example of this is the newly discovered Dvmap trojan virus, which is the first Android virus with code injection.
This virus, recently discovered by Kaspersky Labs, is a code-injected virus. This means that the Dvmap virus, which has been transmitted to more than 50 devices without being noticed until today, can add lines of code to the system root directories on the device for its own purposes.
The Dvmap virus can easily work on 64 bit systems and can automatically disable Google’s application authentication protocols. Having a full control on the infected device, the virus is starting to show pirated ads to its users. In fact, this is the main action known about the virus.
Officials of the Kaspersky Labs, who made a statement about the Dvmap virus, said that the virus has been removed from the Play Store by notifying Google. Again, as the authorities have noted, the infected devices can be re-used easily by resetting them to factory settings.
