What are the habits that damage the kidneys?

The organs that resemble the bean of our bodies, the kidneys, filter the blood and provide the waste products of metabolism. They regulate the acid base balance of the body, the fluid electrolyte balance of the body, and produce blood pressure and blood pressure regimens which are necessary hormones and enzymes.

The damage of an organ also affects our health negatively. Some mistakes we make in our daily lives can cause damage to the kidneys. Well, which mistakes we are doing are giving harm to our kidney health?

Excess protein consumption produces excess ammonia. As a result, the kidney works hard to neutralize it, so it slowly falls from strength.

Salt is the biggest contributor to kidney failure. Too much salt consumption causes too much pressure on the kidneys to regulate body electrolytes and blood pressure.

The dehydration state ignores thirst and stops the kidney function to keep the body dry. The kidney needs water to work properly. Thus, drink about 10 glasses of water a day to prevent dehydration. You should look at the color of your urine to understand that you consume enough water.

Smoking really damages our kidneys. In connection with the constriction and hardening of the blood vessels, the blood supply to all body organs including the kidneys is negatively affected.

Too much alcohol consumption increases the level of uric acid in the blood. It causes the tubing of the kidneys to clog and cause stone formation.

Medicines also have negative effects on our body beside their benefits. Abuse of drugs, especially painkillers, can cause side effects that can damage the kidneys. On the other hand, certain medicines, especially those prescribed for blood pressure and diabetes should be taken at the right dosage and in the correct way. Failure to do so can lead to kidney failure.

A study made by the University of Maryland showed that lack of B6 vitamins increased kidney stone risk. These vitamin sources include sunflower seeds, pistachios, chickpeas, fish and starchy vegetables.
